Questions this page answers
What does the ratio measure?
Men per 100 women aged 20–39. Under 100 means women outnumber men in that age band.
Which market has the most women per man?
Nepal, at 82.7 men per 100 women nationally.
And the fewest?
Malaysia, at 117.2.
Why 20 to 39 and not the whole population?
A whole-population ratio is dominated by the fact that women live longer, so it says more about the over-70s than about anyone of dating age.
How far below national level does this go?
59 markets, broken into 74,271 sub-national units in total. A national average hides places that do not resemble each other.
Aggregated from each country's sub-national units, 20–39 band. Data updated September 8, 2026. A ratio is a supply number, not a measure of dating success.
