Men per 100 women in the 20–39 band, from each country’s census at the finest level it publishes. Measured at says what that level is, because it is a province in one market and a city in the next.
The country figure hides these
96 of them sit in countries that are male-majority nationally. Warsaw against Poland, Osaka against Japan, New Orleans against the USA: the national number is an average over places that disagree, so it answers a question about a country and not about anywhere you would live.
