How to read it
- Click a month heading to anchor on it. Comfort, the rain filter and the sort all switch to that month; click it again to release.
- The colour is comfort, not the number. Green to red is the same 0-100 comfort model the country pages use: feels-like temperature weighted heaviest, then rain, then humidity, and humidity only counts against a city once it is warm.
- Comfortable only keeps the cities whose anchored month clears the same "decent" line the deep-dives use for the word.
- PM2.5 is an annual mean, so it does not move with the month. Blank means no estimate is published for that city, never zero.
- Rain filters on the anchored month. With no month anchored it filters on the city's wettest month, so an eight-month dry season plus a monsoon does not pass as dry.
Where the numbers come from
Monthly normals are ERA5 reanalysis, 2015-2024, taken at each city's centroid on a roughly 9-11 km grid. Air quality is a CAMS annual-mean PM2.5. Both are city-level.
A normal is the average of ten Februaries. It tells you what February is usually like; it does not tell you what next February will do. For a forecast, use a forecast.
